“To be shaken out of the ruts of ordinary perception, to be shown for a few timeless hours the outer and the inner world, not as they appear to an animal obsessed with words and notions, but as they are apprehended directly, unconditionally, by Mind-At-Large, this is an experience of inestimable value to everyone.” Aldous Huxley in “The Doors of Perception” The seeds for this workbook were sown from the many groups I have facilitated on the study of dreams and dream work. In those groups, I have always been struck by the number of people whose dreams are inundated with themes of work. I have been even more intrigued by how disappointing this is (at first) for those who come hoping to discover something magnificent and “other-worldly” in their dreams. Given what we know about the nature of dreams and how they transform outer events into internal symbols for wholeness, we can imagine that the dreams are working overtime to respond to the enormous amount of personal energy that the outer world requires of most persons today. I have also found many persons hungry for some way to bring the internal dynamics of dream work in line with the wellsprings of wisdom in Western Christian spirituality. The life work of Dr. Carl Jung (depth psychology) and the 13th Century Christian mystic Meister Eckhart speak to that need. This inner-work manual is dedicated to a series of exercises that challenge commonly-held perceptions about the nature of work and how to transform our perceptions, and so our reality. We begin at the source, with the desperate need of each person to be validated as an individual of great worth, someone whose very being is a blessing, an individual “pregnant” with a possibility that only he/she can bring into being. As Meister Eckhart wrote: “…Our life may be very small. But if we grasp it to the extent that it is being, then it is more noble than anything that ever attained life.” To order “The Soul’s Work: Healing Outer Work Through Inner Work With Dreams and the Mystics” and one accompaniment guided meditation tape, print page 2 of this article and send the order form by regular mail to: Anne Milligan PO Box 22824 Louisville, KY 40252 Re: The Soul's Work ![]() NAME: ______________________________ ADDRESS:______________________________ ______________________________________ PHONE:________________________________ ______________________________________ E-MAIL:_______________________________ ______________________________________ QUANTITY: ________ PRICE: $25.00 each for Workbook and 1 tape SUBTOTAL: ________ Shipping: $2.95 TOTAL: ________ SEND ORDER FORM TO: Anne Milligan PO Box 22824 Louisville, KY 40252 | Dreams and Dreamwork | | A Family-Centered Approach in Coping With Loss | Healing Mother Loss In Childhood | Motherless Daughters - Dont Be Afraid | Inner Healing and the Soul | Statement of Intention for Counseling Therapy | COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT HYPNOTHERAPY | SPIRITUALITY IN THERAPY | Stress Management | Guided Imagery For Pain Management | Marriage/Couples Therapy | Healing Meditations | Why Nobody Should be Afraid of Counseling Therapy | Emotional Honesty | | About Anne Milligan | Hospice Music | Contact Us | Consultant Services | Flow of Life Feedback | INDIVIDUAL, COUPLES AND FAMILY THERAPY | Hospice Consultant Fees | Hospice Ritual | | Return Home | Seasonal Affective Disorder | WE ARE ALL ADDICTED TO SOMETHING | Bereavement and Hospice Materials | stress management with the EmWave | SETTING GOALS AND MEETING THEM | Thoughts of Home | |
